Bayer CropScience Abandons MIC Production In W.Va.

Law360, New York (March 18, 2011, 5:59 PM EDT) -- Bayer CropScience LP said Friday it would not restart the production of methyl isocyanate at a West Virginia plant, handing a major win to residents who filed suit hoping to block the company from making the deadly chemical at that location.

In February a judge overseeing that action in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia had temporarily barred Bayer from producing MIC at the plant.
