Hyundai Recalls 190K Cars Over Air Bag Problems

Law360 (March 18, 2011, 5:48 PM EDT) -- Hyundai Motor America is recalling nearly 190,000 of its Elantra sedans to fix problems with their air bag systems, the company confirmed Friday.

In two separate but overlapping voluntary recalls, Hyundai dealers will install additional parts and software in order to correct the issues, company spokesman Miles Johnson said.

The first recall covers more than 188,000 Elantras with model years of 2007 to 2009 that were built between July 14, 2006, and Nov. 1,2008. In those cars, dealers will install protective covers on the car's weight...
