Chinese Drywall No Threat To Home Wiring: US

Law360 (March 18, 2011, 9:48 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and the Department of Housing and Urban Development on Friday took back a recommendation to remove all electrical wiring from homes with toxic Chinese drywall after an investigation found no danger.

The move comes after a study conducted on behalf of CPSC by New Mexico-based Sandia National Laboratories found that long-term exposure of wiring and other electrical components to the hydrogen sulfide gas found in problem drywall did not pose a safety hazard.
