Camera-Pill Maker Triumphs In Endoscopy Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT) -- An Israeli maker of capsule endoscopy systems announced Monday that a German court had ruled a system made by a South Korean medical device company infringed two patents.

Given Imaging, which bills itself as a pioneer of capsule endoscopy, said a regional court in Dusseldorf, Germany, found that  IntroMedic's MiroCam system infringed the two patents-in-suit — allowing it to block Intromedic's German distributor, Medwork Medicinal Products and Services GMBH, from selling the current model of the MiroCam capsule and MiroView software in that country.
