GenOn Liable For Pollution In Pa. River, Judge Says

Law360, New York (March 22, 2011, 6:55 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Monday found GenOn Northeast Management Co. liable for discharging excessive amounts of heavy metals from a power plant into Pennsylvania's Conemaugh River, handing victory to PennEnvironment and the Sierra Club.

Judge Robert C. Mitchell of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania granted the environmental groups' motion for partial summary judgment.
