Spain Opens Price-Fixing Probe Against Shipping Cos.

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 6:30 PM EDT) -- Spanish competition officials launched a formal investigation Wednesday into more than a dozen shipping companies that operate between the country and Morocco, citing allegations that the companies conspired to fix the prices of passenger fares.

Spain’s National Competition Commission said its investigators were examining whether the shipping companies made a deal to share the market and fix prices and commercial terms and conditions for transporting passengers and vehicles.
