Bacardi Fights To Avoid Claims Over Distribution Deals

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 4:07 PM EDT) -- Bacardi USA Inc. slapped Johnson Brothers Liquor Co. with a lawsuit Wednesday asking a Florida federal court to declare Bacardi did not breach three distribution agreements or run afoul of federal antitrust law by terminating the deals.

Bacardi filed its complaint in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida against Ed Phillips & Sons Co., Iowa Wine & Beverage Co. and Johnson Brothers. According to Bacardi, Johnson Brothers is the ultimate parent of Ed Phillips and Iowa Wine.
