GM, Chrysler Sue Vehicle Hauler Over 'Hostage' Cars

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 8:29 PM EDT) -- General Motors LLC and Chrysler Group LLC filed lawsuits in Michigan this week against Allied Systems Holdings Inc., a vehicle hauler that allegedly took nearly 2,500 of the automakers' cars “hostage” amid a contract dispute.

GM wants a court order to force Allied to release cars it allegedly kept after ending its contract with GM, it said in an emergency motion filed Wednesday the U.S. District Court for the District of Michigan. The carmaker filed its complaint Tuesday.
