HTC Sues Samsung Over Smartphone Trademarks

Law360, New York (March 24, 2011, 2:38 PM EDT) -- HTC Corp. filed suit in Washington state on Wednesday seeking declaratory judgment that its Inspire line of 4G cellphones does not infringe Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s Inspiration trademark and would not cause confusion among consumers.

HTC filed an application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in November to use the Inspire mark for mobile phones, smartphones, portable computers and other wireless electronic devices, according to a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington.
