SEC Moves Toward International Accounting Standard

Law360, New York (April 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission is one step closer to allowing companies to choose to comply with international accounting standards rather than U.S. guidelines, announcing its intention to open the proposed policy for comments by this summer.

The SEC on Tuesday said that it had initiated a series of actions that would move the agency closer to issuing a proposing release on the International Financial Reporting Standards.
