Marvell Faces SEC Backdating Probe

Law360, New York (April 25, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Semiconductor maker Marvell Technology Group Ltd. has announced that the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has launched a formal investigation into the company’s stock options granting practices.

The Bermuda-based company said it had been notified by the SEC last Friday about the probe, following an informal inquiry by the regulator in July 2006 requesting documents relating to past options grants.

In a filing with the SEC Tuesday, Marvell said it had cooperated with investigators and that it “intends to continue to do so.”
