Cephalon Wins IP Suit Over Watson's Generic Fentora

Law360, New York (March 25, 2011, 3:00 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal judge ruled on Thursday that Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc.’s proposed generic version of Fentora infringes Cephalon Inc.’s patent for the painkiller, handing Cephalon a big victory days after the court invalidated two related patents.

Judge Sue L. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware put an end to Watson’s efforts to market a generic version of Fentora, finding that the proposed drug infringes four claims of U.S. Patent Number 6,264,981.
