Citigroup Loses Trademark Fight In Fed. Circ.

Law360 (March 28, 2011, 3:53 PM EDT) -- The Federal Circuit on Monday ruled against Citigroup Inc. in a case that alleged Florida-based Capital City Bank Group Inc.'s trademarked name would cause consumers to confuse the two companies.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit affirmed a ruling by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office's Trademark Trial and Appeal Board that neither a likelihood of confusion nor dilution would arise from the registration of Capital City's marks.
