FDA Weighs Testimony On Health Risks Of Food Dyes

Law360, New York (March 30, 2011, 7:54 PM EDT) -- In the first day of a two-day meeting on the potential link between food colorings and hyperactivity in children, a U.S. Food and Drug Administration panel heard testimony on Wednesday from groups seeking bans or restrictions on eight currently approved food dyes.

The panel, which will make recommendations to the FDA on Thursday, heard testimony Wednesday from the Center for Science in the Public Interest, whose petition prompted the review.
