Contractor's Workers Can Give Out Handbills: NLRB

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 7:25 PM EDT) -- The National Labor Relations Board ruled Friday that a Las Vegas casino violated the law by prohibiting off-duty employees of restaurants operated by a contractor inside the casino from distributing handbills on casino property.

The NLRB issued a 3 to 1 decision that the New York-New York Hotel & Casino had violated the National Labor Relations Act by stopping employees of its subcontractor Ark Las Vegas Restaurant Corp., who were seeking to join the union that represents the casino's employees, from handbilling on its property....
