Meridian Trust Files 300 Adversary Cases

Law360, New York (April 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A litigation trust for auto parts maker Meridian Automotive Systems Inc. has filed nearly 300 adversary cases over the last week in an attempt to recoup millions of dollars in money transfers the company made prior to falling into bankruptcy.

The MAS Litigation Trust was created when Meridian’s reorganization plan was approved last December. Now, the company is seeking a judgment in its favor for what it calls “avoidable transfers.”
