Simmons Sues Manufacturer Over Spring Coil Patent

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 1:33 PM EDT) -- Simmons Bedding Co. filed suit Wednesday asking a Wisconsin federal court to rule that it has not infringed manufacturer Leggett & Platt Inc.'s patent related to a method for assembling mattress spring coils.

Simmons asked the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin to find that the Leggett & Platt patent is invalid or that the mattress maker does not infringe it.
