Dead Ala. Woman's Estate Sues Over Tainted IV

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 5:23 PM EDT) -- The daughter of a deceased Alabama woman sued Meds IV LLC in state court on Thursday, claiming intravenous fluid made by the IV maker was tainted with a bacterial infection that killed her mother.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Meds IV knew its IVs were tainted with serratia marcescens bacteria but endangered the public by selling them anyway, according to a complaint filed in the Circuit Court for Autauga County, Alabama, by Barbara Young, the daughter of Mary Ellen Kise.
