Arko Recalls Smoked Fish Over Botulism Fears

Law360, New York (April 1, 2011, 6:32 PM EDT) -- Arko Foods International Inc. is recalling eight-ounce packages of Angelina-brand smoked round scad because of potential contamination with the bacteria that causes botulism, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Thursday.

The recall extends to California, Nevada, Arizona, Washington, New York, Texas, Maryland and Florida, where the smoked fish was distributed through retail stores, supermarkets and wholesale distributors.

The eight-ounce bags were distributed to the market between 2009 and January 2011, the FDA said.
