US-Korea FTA To Increase Vehicle Exports: ITC

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 4:53 PM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission said Thursday that a proposed U.S.-Korea free trade pact would significantly increase U.S. vehicle exports to the country, as a key Democratic lawmaker pressured officials and Congress to implement the long-awaited measure by June.

Eliminating Korean tariffs on U.S. cars following the implementation of the agreement will increase U.S. car exports by 41 to 56 percent, or $48 million to $66 million, and overall automotive sector imports by 54 percent, an ITC report said.
