Approaching A Unified Patent System In The EU

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 12:34 PM EDT) -- On March 8 and 10, two decisive steps were made with regard to the European patent system.

First, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) delivered its opinion on the envisaged agreement to create a unified patent litigation system with a central European patent court finding that it is — in its current state — incompatible with European Union treaties.
