EEOC Claims Turkey Co. Abused Disabled Workers

Law360, New York (April 6, 2011, 6:43 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission brought a lawsuit in Iowa on Wednesday accusing Hill Country Farms Inc. of subjecting workers with intellectual disabilities to severe abuse and discrimination for more than two decades.

In a complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Iowa, the EEOC claimed that Texas-based Hill Country Farms, which did business as Henry’s Turkey Service, mistreated 31 intellectually disabled employees in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act for 20 years.
