Sun Microsystems Faces Antitrust Claim Over Resales

Law360, New York (April 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Fearing that computer manufacturers will monopolize the secondary sales market in Europe if Sun Microsystems continues to hide sales information, an association of independent computer resellers has asked the U.K. competition authority to force the computer giant to open its books.

The Association of Service and Computer Dealers International, or ASCDI, filed a complaint April 23 with the Office of Fair Trading against Sun’s U.K. subsidiary, saying that Sun is refusing to supply historic sales and distribution information on Sun products which the association’s members want...
