Lucent Appeal Denied In Winstar Case

Law360 (April 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A district court has upheld a bankruptcy court ruling that placed some of the blame for the collapse of telecommunications company Winstar Communications Inc. on fellow technology company Lucent Technologies Inc.

Judge Joseph Farnan Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware on Thursday upheld a 2005 bankruptcy court ruling in favor of Winstar’s creditors.

The creditors had alleged that Lucent contributed to the circumstances that forced Winstar to file for bankruptcy in 2001.
