Judge Stays Samsung's Digital TV Patent Suit

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 6:30 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal judge on Wednesday refused to nix Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.'s complaint accusing Westinghouse Digital LLC of infringing its digital TV patents, but stayed the suit while the parties wage a separate dispute in a California state court.

Judge Gregory M. Sleet of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware denied Westinghouse's bid for a dismissal of the patent infringement claims but allowed Samsung's state law claims to remain, ruling that a suit pending in California state court would resolve them. The...
