US Seeks Stiff Prison Term In Ford Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, New York (April 7, 2011, 3:49 PM EDT) -- Prosecutors told a Michigan federal judge on Wednesday that former Ford Motor Co. product engineer Xiang Dong Yu, who admitted to stealing Ford trade secrets worth as much as $100 million and taking them to China, deserved a lengthy prison term.

In a sentencing memorandum filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, the government asked Judge Gerald Rosen to impose a sentence at the upper end of the 63 to 78 month range called for under Yu's November plea agreement....
