Mo. AG Backs Health Care Law Challenge In 11th Circ.

Law360, New York (April 11, 2011, 6:10 PM EDT) -- Missouri's attorney general said Monday that Congress exceeded its authority in passing the federal health care overhaul law, filing an amicus brief in the Eleventh Circuit in support of a legal challenge by Florida and 25 other states.

Attorney General Chris Koster, a Democrat, said in a Monday letter to Republican leaders in Missouri's legislature that he would support a challenge of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act because of its mandate requiring most people to buy health insurance or pay a penalty.
