Dissecting The ADAAA

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 2:20 PM EDT) -- When Congress passed the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendments Act of 2008 (ADAAA), it was clear that it intended to make it easier for people with disabilities to obtain protection under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

To that end, the ADAAA redefines key ADA terms and expressly overturns long-standing Supreme Court decisions and U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission regulations that narrowly defined some of the ADA’s terms.
