The Year Of Change For European Product Safety

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 11:41 AM EDT) -- Since the passage of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act in 2008, product safety practitioners in the United States have been focused on new regulations and initiatives at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission. New rules have been announced on children’s products, the long anticipated consumer complaint database is now up and running, and the CPSC is actively considering new rules on compliance assurance programs. However, we need to pay attention to our friends “across the pond.” There’s a lot going on there too.
