Adidas Unit Targeted In Japan Antitrust Probe

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 4:00 PM EDT) -- Japan's antitrust watchdog raided Adidas AG's local Reebok unit Tuesday, the footwear giant said, reportedly based on concerns that it was trying to block retailers from marking down prices for its popular EasyTone sneakers.

Germany-based Adidas confirmed Tuesday that the Japanese Fair Trade Commission inspected Reebok Japan's offices, saying the unit's management was "closely cooperating with the authorities" on the matter.
