Howrey Bankruptcy May Cause Headaches For Ex-Attys

Law360 (April 12, 2011, 12:17 PM EDT) -- The involuntary bankruptcy filing of Howrey LLP in California could spell trouble for the dissolved firm’s former attorneys as well as for the firms that have since hired them, experts say.

Legal recruitment agency Matura Farrington Staffing Services Inc., court reporting services company Jan Brown & Associates and office supply company Give Something Back Inc. on Monday filed a Chapter 7 petition in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California, listing roughly $36,600 in claims and seeking to liquidate the assets of Howrey....
