Democrats Revive Paycheck Fairness Act

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 5:41 PM EDT) -- Democrats marked Equal Pay Day on Tuesday with the reintroduction of legislation to increase penalties for employers that pay women less than men for equivalent work.

Sen. Barbara Milkuski, D-Md., and Rep. Rosa DeLauro, D-Conn., reintroduced the Paycheck Fairness Act in the Senate and U.S. House of Representatives, respectively. The reintroduction of the bill was timed to coincide with Equal Pay Day, set by the National Committee on Pay Equity to raise awareness of the wage gap between men and women.
