Ariz. Utilities Jump Into Haze Pollution Fight

Law360 (April 12, 2011, 7:00 PM EDT) -- Two Arizona utilities and an entity that controls a canal in the state won approval Tuesday to intervene in a suit demanding the U.S. government certify that their coal-fired power plants cause haze pollution.

Judge Gladys Kessler of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ruled that state-owned Salt River Project Agricultural Improvement and Power District, state-regulated Arizona Public Service Co. and the Central Arizona Water Conservation District each had a protectable stake in the haze litigation.
