Dykema IP Chief Looks To Exit Malpractice Suit

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 5:25 PM EDT) -- The head of Dykema Gossett PLLC's intellectual property group argued Tuesday that a Florida federal court lacked jurisdiction over him in a multimillion-dollar legal malpractice lawsuit that American Torch Tip Co. brought against the firm.

Allan J. Sternstein asked the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida to dismiss him from American Torch's suit, which alleges that he and the firm negligently destroyed the company's key defenses and counterclaim in an underlying patent infringement action, for lack of personal jurisdiction.
