Whitney Holding Officer Sues Bank Over Hancock Sale

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 7:16 PM EDT) -- A bank officer and shareholder filed a derivative suit in Louisiana federal court Monday accusing bank holding company Whitney Holding Corp. and its principals of enriching themselves at investors' expense in selling the bank to Hancock Holding Co.

In a ruling in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana on Tuesday, Magistrate Judge Eldon E. Fallon allowed the female plaintiff, listed in the suit as Jane Doe, to remain unnamed because she works for the defendant.
