Former FTC Clerk Admits To Hawking Tech Gear

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 2:30 PM EDT) -- A former clerk for the Federal Trade Commission pled guilty in Washington on Tuesday to stealing $217,000 worth of computers, DVD players and televisions from the agency and selling them at bargain prices out of his home.

Harold Hughes, 58, of Arlington, Va., faces 10 years in prison after admitting to theft of goverment money in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, and a sentencing before Judge Richard J. Leon has been scheduled for July 13.
