Colo. Regulator Says Texas Co. Can't Sell Deal Stakes

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 6:38 PM EDT) -- The Colorado Division of Securities entered a cease-and-desist order against Texas oil and gas company Mieka Corp. for allegedly violating state securities law by offering joint venture interests to Colorado residents for oil wells in Pennsylvania.

In the order announced on Monday, Colorado Securities Commissioner Fred Joseph said Dallas, Tex.-based Mieka, its managing director Daro Blankenship and sales agent Stephen Romo violated the Colorado Securities Act by failing to register the interests as securities with the Colorado regulator.
