Caliper Technologies, Molecular Devices Settle Patent Suit

Law360, New York (November 4, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- Caliper Technologies Corp. has settled its patent infringement lawsuit against Molecular Devices Corp. of California, the company said Tuesday.

The lawsuit alleged that Molecular Devices’ IMAP assay products infringe on two of Caliper's U.S. patents.

As part of the settlement, Caliper and Molecular Devices have entered into a nonexclusive agreement in which Molecular Devices has agreed to pay to Caliper a one-time licensing fee as well as royalties based on future sales of IMAP products.

Financial details of the settlement were not disclosed.
