Bausch & Lomb Unit Sued Over Patent For Vitrectomy Cutter

Law360 (October 18, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Intellectual property consulting and enforcement firm General Patent has filed a lawsuit on behalf of medical device maker Scieran Technologies, Inc. against rival Bausch & Lomb Surgical, Inc. over patents for a disposable high-speed vitrectomy cutter.

The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, alleges that Bausch & Lomb Surgical manufactured, used, sold and/or offered for sale a disposable high-speed vitrectomy cutter in infringement of Scieran's US Patent Nos. 6,629,986 and 6,258,111.
