Coin Collectors Lose Bid For Info On Import Limits

Law360 (April 18, 2011, 7:06 PM EDT) -- The D.C. Circuit on Friday largely shot down an attempt by three coin collector trade groups to force the U.S. Department of State to turn over records on import restrictions levied against cultural artifacts from China, Italy and Cyprus.

The groups, which represent thousands of currency collectors in the U.S. and abroad, were seeking reports prepared by the Cultural Property Advisory Committee, a federal committee that advises the department on import restrictions requested by foreign governments.
