E-Discovery Prowess Could Become Certified Skill

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 3:38 PM EDT) -- In an age where legal fights almost always involve disclosing electronic information, industry experts are calling for standards to distinguish e-discovery professionals from novices — even though some lawyers might balk at having to certify those skills.

The Organization of Legal Professionals and individual lawyers have recently been pushing for standards to certify proficiency in handling e-discovery, and the Association of Certified E-Discovery Specialists gathered 250 attendees in March for its inaugural conference on e-discovery certification.
