Anadarko, Repsol Schemed For Drilling Spot: Suit

Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 4:17 PM EDT) -- Nigerian oil company Oranto Petroleum Ltd. on Thursday accused Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and Repsol Exploracion SA in Wyoming federal court of encroaching on a valuable drilling area off the coast of Sierra Leone for which the plaintiff held a development contract.

Oranto claims that Anadarko and Repsol worked together to convince Sierra Leone’s government to redraw the border of the offshore drilling tract, subverting Oranto’s contractual rights.
