In-House Counsel Docs Barred In Mayer Brown Bias Suit

Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 6:31 PM EDT) -- A North Carolina magistrate judge ruled Monday that Mayer Brown LLP does not have to hand over internal communications with its in-house counsel regarding the termination of a former associate who is suing the firm for harassment and race bias.

U.S. Magistrate Judge David S. Carver partially denied former Mayer Brown real estate attorney Venus Y. Springs’ motion to compel certain supplemental responses, rejecting her bid for the production of communications between the firm and its in-house counsel Marcia Goodman relating to Springs’ termination.
