Tullow Says Heritage Must Foot $313M Uganda Tax Bill

Law360, New York (April 19, 2011, 3:45 PM EDT) -- Tullow Oil PLC has sued Heritage Oil PLC in London in an effort to recover $313.4 million in taxes Tullow paid to Uganda in relation to a $1.5 billion energy transaction between the companies, Heritage said Monday.

Tullow claims in papers filed with the High Court of Justice that Heritage should reimburse it for the tax bill that it racked up as a result of its purchase of oil and gas interests in Uganda, according to Heritage.
