MGA Targets US Tariffs Over 11 Toy Shipments

Law360, New York (April 19, 2011, 7:14 PM EDT) -- Bratz doll maker MGA Entertainment Inc. launched a lawsuit Tuesday claiming the federal government should not have levied a 4 percent tariff on 11 shipments of inflatable toys.

MGA claimed in a complaint filed in the U.S. Court of International trade that the shipments should have been classified as duty-free toys, but were instead listed as athletic and sports articles and equipment, making them subject to the 4 percent rate.
