AGs Target Pabst Over 'Blast' Marketing

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 3:52 PM EDT) -- Pabst Brewing Co.'s new flavored malt beverage “Blast by Colt 45” poses a serious binge drinking risk and could lead to underage drinking because of its marketing, a letter signed by 17 attorneys general on Thursday said.

The attorneys general ask the company to reduce the drink's alcohol volume and work to ensure that the product's marketing, which presently involves rapper Snoop Dogg, doesn't target an audience under the legal drinking age.

Blast is the latest alcoholic beverage to catch the attention of regulators and authorities....
