Judge Nixes New Trial For Braun, Terumo Catheter Row

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 9:18 PM EDT) -- A federal judge in Delaware on Thursday denied attempts by  B. Braun Melsungen AG and Terumo Medical Corp.to continue their catheter patent fight, rejecting both medical device manufacturers' bids for a new trial.

U.S. District Court Judge Leonard P. Stark shot down the companies' attempts to have the court weigh in on claim 17 of the patent, the only valid claim the jury decided Terumo had violated. The claim relates to a crimp located near the tip of Braun's catheter needle.
