Client Pressures Leading To Cost Recovery Changes

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011, 5:36 PM EDT) -- Law firms are increasingly being pressured to alter their fee arrangements, which has turned them away from traditional cost recovery areas like copies and legal research and toward more modern areas like printing, according to a recent survey.

The survey, conducted by legal support services consulting firm Mattern & Associates LLC, found that clients have become more cost-conscious during these tough economic times, negotiating recovery rates and practices and at times flat-out refusing to pay.
