US Seeks Quick Win In RI Superfund Suit

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011, 5:34 PM EDT) -- The U.S. government on Friday asked a judge to throw out manufacturer Emhart Industries Inc.'s four-month-old lawsuit demanding that it contribute to the cleanup of a Superfund site in Rhode Island.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency should not have to deal with litigation when its resources would be better spent handling the ongoing cleanup at the Centredale Manor Superfund site, attorneys said in a motion to dismiss filed in Rhode Island federal court.
