Pediatricians Say Chemical Regs Need Serious Revision

Law360, New York (April 25, 2011, 12:38 PM EDT) -- A leading association of pediatricians on Monday called for an overhaul of federal regulations on chemical safety, saying the current system has failed to protect children and pregnant women from potentially dangerous chemical exposure.

The American Academy of Pediatrics said in a policy statement that the nation’s chemical management policy should be substantially revised to include new rules on chemical research, testing and post-marketing regulation.
